10 Week Term - Wheel Throwing

Immerse yourself in the craft and level up your throwing in our 10-week term with one of our advanced teachers, Claudia. Designed for students with a little experience that are looking for ongoing tutoring to help expand their practice.
This course welcomes mixed levels — from those who have just started dabbling in wheel throwing to returning students wanting to push their skills and expand their practice. The term will begin with Claudia checking in with each student to get a feel for their goals and skill level. From there, students will be provided with a personalised program, with throwing exercises and demos planned each week to help them hit their goals.
Areas and projects that students can choose to focus on:
Throwing large (including two-piece vessels)
Creating a collection and building a cohesive body of work
Building confidence shaping different vase forms
Lidded vessels and teapots
Handles
Tableware and sets
And more!
Whats included
Students will have full access to our tools and equipment, including wheels, slab rollers, hand building workspace, studio glazes as well as access to our on sight firing service.
You will also have free access to our recycled clay (pending availability) as well as one bag of commercial clay at the beginning of the term to get you started! Additional clay can be purchased in house or from the local pottery supply store.
Additional Costs
Firing, please note firing is an additional cost and is charged at $10/kg for bisque and glaze firings (charged separately).
We have separated the cost of tuition and firing to help students manage the overall cost of the course and to encourage students to create and fire work at their own pace.
Students will have the opportunity to glaze their work throughout the term, allowing them to test different glazes and surface decoration techniques and incorporate them into the second half of the course.
