If you’ve ever had a spin on a wheel before, you know it takes a bit of time to find your rhythm. Fear not! Our course is meticulously designed to guide you through that journey, providing a supportive environment where refinement and control become second nature. No need to feel pressure to produce masterpieces – this is your learning haven, a space for excitement and relaxation.To enhance your experience, we encourage you to bring a pencil and a small notebook with unruled pages. Why? Because visualizing your intended shapes is key, and we’re here to assist you every step of the way.
Class Breakdown

In this course, we will cover:

1. How to throw with larger amounts of clay -weigh, prepare and learn
different tricks to adjust your technique in response to the clay
size.

2. Refine the cylinder shape, troubleshoot and work out any incorrect
techniques that may be inhibiting you from progressing.

3. Shaping – Draw/bring image reference material to the shaping session to
discuss with our teacher some forms of whatever we are shaping
that week (i.e cups, bowls or vases).

4. How to create specific shapes with various tools and
other techniques to control and accomplish a desired design.

5. Trimming techniques and how to add handles and clay decorations to
your pieces.

6. Glazing.
