Art Yarramunua Gallery (Collaboration)
Stan Yarramunua, an Aboriginal artist based in Australia with a rich artistic journey spanning over twenty years. Stan initially began by selling his own paintings, didgeridoos, and clap sticks at local markets and galleries. His passion for art extended beyond his own creations as he stumbled upon the opportunity to support other Indigenous artists from the Mildura and Robinvale regions.
Every Friday, Stan would travel to the iconic Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne, sharing the vibrant stories and creations of Aboriginal artists with visitors. Through these interactions, he fostered meaningful relationships and expanded his representation to include a diverse range of Aboriginal artists from Victoria. His commitment to the art community only deepened as he ventured into the desert, connecting with Aboriginal Desert Artists and further enriching his portfolio.
In Melbourne, Stan established the ArtYarramunua Gallery, serving as a platform to showcase the extraordinary talents of Indigenous artists from across Australia. His dedication to the arts is matched by his unwavering commitment to the next generation. Stan is passionate about creating safe spaces for Aboriginal children, fostering a supportive environment where they can learn valuable skills and connect with peers. This vision has led to the development of the Yarramunua Foundation, aimed at empowering young Aboriginal individuals through art and community engagement.
Through this exhibition, we invite you to explore and appreciate the traditional Aboriginal heritage that Stan so passionately shares. His artwork embodies the spirit and stories of his culture, and we hope you find joy and inspiration in the pieces on display.
